At Barro Cerámica, you'll learn how to work with silver clay and create your own unique piece of jewellery. Shape it, texture it, personalise it and watch it transform into real silver.
No previous jewellery-making experience is needed.
Whether you're looking for a creative experience in San Sebastián, a special activity with a partner or friends, or simply want to learn something new, this workshop is a chance to make something you'll be able to keep and wear.
Silver clay is a special material that can be shaped much like clay.
Once your piece has been created, it is dried and fired at high temperature. The organic material burns away during firing, leaving behind a piece of fine silver.
This means you don't simply make a model of jewellery—you create a real silver piece that you can keep.
During the workshop, you'll be guided through the process from beginning to end.
You'll learn how to:
Work with silver clay
Shape and form your piece
Add textures and details
Create your own design
Prepare your piece for firing
The finished piece will be unique because you made it yourself.
Depending on the workshop and available materials, you may be able to create:
A silver ring
A pendant
A small charm
Small Earrings
We'll introduce you to the material and help you decide what you'd like to create. First you will practice on regular clay.
You'll work with the clay and use different tools and techniques to create your design.
Textures, patterns, shapes and small details make your piece yours.
After the workshop, your piece goes through the firing process that transforms the silver clay into real silver.
Your piece is cleaned and finished so it's ready to wear.
You don't need to be a jewellery maker, artist or ceramicist to take part.
We'll guide you through each stage and explain the techniques as you go.
The aim isn't to create a perfect piece.
It's to create your piece.
