Make Your Own Breakfast Set — Pottery Workshop

Make a mug and breakfast piece you'll actually use

Imagine having your morning coffee from a mug you made yourself.

In this beginner-friendly pottery workshop in San Sebastián, you'll create your own handmade breakfast set using approximately 800g of clay.

You'll make a ceramic mug plus either a small plate or small bowl, then decorate your pieces by hand.

No previous pottery experience is needed.

What you'll make

Your breakfast set includes:

One handmade mug

🍽️ One small plate or small bowl

You'll shape both pieces by hand and then decorate them using a selection of underglazes.

Your pieces will be unique to you. If you're new to ceramics, don't worry if they're not perfectly symmetrical—the handmade character is part of what makes them special.

What you'll learn

During the workshop you'll learn basic hand-building and ceramic decoration techniques, including how to shape your clay and add color and decoration.

You'll have approximately 45 minutes at the end of the workshop to decorate your pieces.

We recommend coming with a few ideas for colors or patterns, but keeping your first design relatively simple.

What happens after the workshop?

Once you've finished, we take care of the technical part.

Your pieces will dry for approximately one week before their first kiln firing.

We then apply a transparent glossy glaze and fire them again.

The kiln reaches temperatures of around 1,000°C.

Your finished breakfast set will normally be ready to collect in approximately 14 days. We'll email you when it's ready.
